Art is the strange and fascinating realm of human expression and perceived value. The subjective nature of "worth" can sometimes cause controversy. Some individuals may believe an item to be worthless; whereas others can place tremendous value on the same exact item.

A testament to this absurdity can be witnessed firsthand, in a recent episode of Antiques Roadshow, where an owner is shockingly informed that her mobile sculpture, which was created by the late Alexander Calder, is easily worth four-hundred, to six-hundred-thousand dollars, ($400,000 - $600,000) and that it could possibly fetch up to one million dollars in the right market. The crux of the matter is that it is the freedom to choose at what price to sell, and at what price to buy, that makes art both beautiful and collectable.

Presently, Wolfy Bank, is considering private offers on a unique piece of art that embodies the essence of the Wolfy Bank movement. This miniature keepsake, dubbed “The Wolf’s Head” measures only two inches across by two inches high.

This trinket is the very first Wolfy Bank ever conceived. It was sculpted by Adam James in the Spring of 2022, with clay that he dug from his property. It is a natural terracotta color, common to The Ohio River Valley region.

The clay body has been fired but the finish has been left raw; protected only by a thin layer of paste wax. Intended as a rough conceptual sculpt, Adam’s fingerprints can still be seen on the surface of the piece. During the greenware phase, an ear was damaged and is now missing. The piece is marked AJM 22 on the reverse. The world is full of piggy banks, but there is only one Wolfy Bank. Now is your chance to own a piece of its conception with an intrepid investment in this provocative piece of art.
