Mirror Mirror: The Song That Wasn’t Supposed to Happen
Funny thing is… when I wrote the song Mirror, Mirror, it wasn’t even intended to be another smash hit for Christina Lynn Wilde. Honestly? I was just having a long conversation with myself, trying to figure out what people might want — maybe something catchy, something relatable.
Weird part is, the song was originally supposed to be either a trap/house mix or a poppy Halloween party track. (Yes, those versions exist. Somewhere out there in the archives — I might release them, haven’t decided yet.) Definitely a different vibe than CLW’s outlaw-country-drifter thing.
But after I finished those versions, I was feeling kinda “meh.” So I thought, “What the heck, let’s see what CLW can do with it.” Once again, I fed it into Suno, gave it a little nudge here and there, and boom — gold. The moment I heard that rifty, rocky driving beat, I knew I had to make another video.
And here’s where it gets fun: I love writing music. I love creating things. I love storytelling. It’s like my three favorite addictions rolled into one. Mirror Mirror turned into this weird cycle where my own words started inspiring me — even though the song wasn’t intended to be a story, suddenly I was building one around it. Teasing out backstories. Over about a week, the whole vision came together: smoky lights, drifters, fireballs on stage? Yeah… that lies somewhere between Supernatural and From Dusk Till Dawn.
Now, if you’ve watched the video, you’ll notice two things:
- it’s entirely AI, and
- I’m actually in it. (Yes, me. No stunt double.)

And if you pay close attention, there are some other easter eggs tucked in there too. I had way too much fun hiding little nods and winks in the chaos.
Here’s the thing — I don’t just make videos for myself. If you’re an artist and you’ve got a track you want brought to life, I can help. Sometimes it’s a paid project, other times, if I love the track enough, and you’ve got a DistroKid account, and I believe in you, I can take a slice on the backend. No problem. No upfront cost to you. Either way, it’s about creating something that hits harder than just an audio file.
This isn’t the first step for CLW either — if you missed the debut single Jack of All Trades, you can read about that one here and see where this all started.
So yeah… what started as me goofing around again with a “maybe party track” turned into a fire-lit outlaw anthem with a full video… And it’s proof of what I love most — creating worlds where everything overlaps.
Go watch Mirror Mirror. Look for the easter eggs. And if you’re an artist, (or anyone really that needs some AI video work) hit me up — maybe we can make something together.
Oh, and if you want to support the journey, grab some CLW gear from the Etsy merch store. The track will be hitting Spotify soon too, so keep your playlists ready.
Now back to coding. (I’m still working on the game, I promise.)
P.S. Did I ever tell you about the time Christina and I took a road trip a few years back to the southwest? We had a great time, yes… I might have lost my mind in the desert, but no… this video does not depict our trip. I promise.
